Gaylord Springs Golf Links Honored as Best Place to Play

Nashville, Tenn. (March 31, 2011)—While the golf season isn't quite into full swing yet, one mid-state course has already received a nod of recognition from leading publications.

GolfWeek magazine has named Gaylord Springs Golf Links as the Best Course You Can Play in the midstate region. The publication uses a 10-pronged approach when analyzing the best courses, looking at factors such as ease and intimacy of routing, natural setting and overall land plan, interest of greens and surrounding contours, basic quality of conditioning, variety and memorability of various pars and more. The recognition, honoring the public course owned and operated by Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, will be announced in their May issue.

The Nashville Business Journal ranked Gaylord Springs Golf Links as one of the most top courses in Middle Tennessee last week. Courses were analyzed by their slope ratings, and Gaylord Springs made the list of the top 10 courses to play, coming in as the top public course in the area. The Scottish links-style course offers 18 challenging holes bordered by limestone bluffs and federally protected wetlands.

"Gaylord Springs prides itself in providing excellent facilities and superior services for all of our players," said Harry Taylor, director of operations and head golf professional at Gaylord Springs Golf Links. "We always seek ways to improve our course and provide opportunities to push our players to new levels. When golfers play Gaylord Springs—and play it well—they will definitely feel a sense of accomplishment."
